Welcome to My Connecticut Kitchen.
I've spent most of the past thirty years armed with a chef's knife and a rolling pin...ditching a cushy corporate gig in my twenties to open a coffeehouse, and then building a bakery at our family's farm. We recently sold the farm and I'm blessed with more time to explore all kinds of creative outlets. From foods to fabrics, paper to pottery, I just love to make things.
The kitchen has forever been the heart of our home - where we've fueled our boys with hot breakfasts before school for the past twenty years, where we mill about each evening making dinner, where our kids and their friends cook together. It's also mission control - where the mail is opened, where the calendar is posted, where endless school projects have been laid out on the table, where plants and pets are watered, where paint brushes are washed, and, most essentially, where the coffee is brewed.
This on-line space is designed to show what I'm working on, and share tales and fails from the kitchen and studio. Much of my art is available for sale in my 'petite boutique' at Salmon Brook Antique Shops in Granby, CT. The booth features wall art, greeting cards and prints, hand sewn items, upcycled thrifts, and a selection of vintage kitchen treasures and home goods. Salmon Brook Antiques is quite a fabulous antique mall - with about 25 dealers they offer a great selection without the overwhelm of huge places. (Stop by often - there is new stuff every day!)
